Bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Once boiled, add the water to a mug and steep one hibiscus teabag in it. Transfer it to the fridge to cool down. I left the teabag in so that the tea was on the strong side.
Once cooled, measure out 1 cup of the hibiscus tea and add it to a high speed blender. Remove the green leaves from the strawberries and add the large strawberries to the blender as well. Add the lime juice. Blend until smooth.
Pour the hibiscus/strawberry/lime mixture into a large glass jar or a cocktail shaker. Add the maple syrup, tequila and a large handful of ice. Shake until chilled.
Before serving, use a mesh strainer and strain the mixture over a glass. Top with a splash of sparkling water (optional) or more lime. Best enjoyed fresh.
