Strawberry Hibiscus Margaritas

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cooling Time 20 minutes
Total Time 30 minutes
Servings 2 margaritas

  • 6 large fresh strawberries (or 10-12 medium)
  • 1 cup hibiscus tea (steeped and chilled)
  • 2 ounces tequila
  • 1/2 lime (juiced)
  • 1-2 tsp maple syrup (optional, but recommended)
  • top with a splash of sparkling water
  • handful of ice

  • Bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Once boiled, add the water to a mug and steep one hibiscus teabag in it. Transfer it to the fridge to cool down. I left the teabag in so that the tea was on the strong side.
  • Once cooled, measure out 1 cup of the hibiscus tea and add it to a high speed blender. Remove the green leaves from the strawberries and add the large strawberries to the blender as well. Add the lime juice. Blend until smooth.
  • Pour the hibiscus/strawberry/lime mixture into a large glass jar or a cocktail shaker. Add the maple syrup, tequila and a large handful of ice. Shake until chilled.
  • Before serving, use a mesh strainer and strain the mixture over a glass. Top with a splash of sparkling water (optional) or more lime. Best enjoyed fresh.
