How To Make Pineapple Salsa

This salsa recipe comes together in no time at all. We are talking 20 minutes, people. This is a great topping for any type of taco, it adds a tropical flare. The fresh ingredients, juicy pineapple, and citric acid make for a vibrant pineapple salsa.

  1. With a sharp knife, finely chop the ripe pineapple, fresh cilantro, cucumber, red onion and garlic. Place into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Slice the jalapeño pepper in half and remove as many seeds as desired. Then chop the jalapeño into small pieces.
  3. Add the fresh lime juice and zest. Sprinkle in the sea salt and then mix all the ingredients together.
  4. Serve right away or store in an airtight container for 2 days.

Tips to Make the Best Homemade Salsa

  1. To save on time, buy pre-cut pineapple. I do not suggest canned pineapple as the taste is quite different from fresh pineapple. Or get one of these.
  2. Choose your level of spice. This is dependent on the amount of jalapeño seeds you add to the salsa. This becomes a spicier salsa the more seeds you add and if you let it sit longer in the fridge before enjoying it, the flavours with meld together even more.
  3. As with most sauces, the longer you let this pineapple jalapeño salsa sit, the more flavourful it will be. So make it ahead of time and the next day, this salsa will be even more epic.
